ALMOST ANY STRUCTURALLY SOUND CONCRETE FLOOR,
WHETHER NEW OR OLD, CAN BE POLISHED.

Concrete’s ease of maintenance is the key reason many warehouses and retail facilities are opting for polished concrete. Not only are polished floors easy to clean, requiring only occasional damp mopping, they hold up well to heavy forklift and foot traffic. They also eliminate the need for messy waxes or coatings—as well as the associated labor, time, and expense to apply them.

Artisan Certified Craftsmen polish concrete making it extremely versatile which allows for abundant options. Colorants, saw cuts, engraving, even stenciled art can create an aesthetically appealing floor that is also durable.

Diamond grinding is necessary to remove and flatten the lippage from uneven tiles and to remove deep surface scratches. This is completed with a 30, 70 and 120 grit diamond. The marks of the previous grit are removed by the consecutive use of the next higher grit.

Honing is accomplished with a 220 and 400 grit diamond. Honing entails smoothing out the ground surface, thus leaving the stone without a reflection or shine. A pre-polish conditioner used in the honing process helps harden the floor surface and increase the reflectivity while improving the wear, stain and abrasion resistances.

Polishing requires the use of 800, 1500, and even 3000 grit diamonds. They brighten the surface by polishing the crystals, which also increases the reflectivity. The higher the grit, the higher the shine. It is imperative to use all of the diamonds in succession. Each diamond is designed to work after the previous one. In the polishing process, A concrete polish and hardener is applied. It increases reflectivity and the co-efficiency of friction while further improving the stain and abrasion resistances.
